A tourist cycle route of 98 km that leads along the most beautiful and picturesque places of the lower Lake Garda.
A journey on two wheels through the splendid and harmonious landscape of the lake, among the best points of interest the hinterland has to offer, between lake and hills, plains and gentle slopes, with a difference in altitude of 520 m. The tour can be undertaken with any type of bicycle (e-bike, classic bike, mountain bike, gravel bike, cargo bike or on three wheels) as it does not present any particular differences in altitude and can be completed all at once or split over several days.
The route starts on the shores of Lake Garda, in the municipalities of Bardolino and Garda, and leads inland towards Albarè, Rivoli and Affi before descending via Lazise and Cavaion to make its way to Bussolengo, Sommacampagna, Villafranca, Valeggio sul Mincio and back to the lakeshore passing Peschiera and Castelnuovo del Garda.
The tour is suitable for everyone as it follows low-traffic routes and cycle paths. Along the route, there is a dense network of companies happy to welcome cyclists and offer their services to them: museums, farms, hotels, apartments, residences, resorts, golf clubs, amusement parks and nature parks.
Each partner is provided with a charging station for e-bikes. To make the most of the stopover while the battery is charging, cyclists can take advantage of the services provided by the network member.
The Celeste del Garda Bike Tour is a transversal project created by the Verona Garda Bike business network to promote accessible, responsible and sustainable tourism of quality in order to highlight and make the most of the unique beauty and scenery of Lake Garda.
The 7 partners are important companies in the tourism, culture and food & wine industries: Europlan Spa, Bellatrix Srl, Lamacart Spa with the Nicolis Museum, Turri Fratelli Srl, Masi, Gardaland and Parco Natura Viva.
They founded Verona Garda Bike in 2012, with the help of the employer’s organization Confindustria Verona through the Coverfil Consortium, and in collaboration with the Province of Verona, local authorities, trade associations and the Chamber of Commerce.
The companies share the common goal of wanting to offer tourists an exciting and valuable experience thanks to the possibility of easily moving around by bike, while enjoying the splendid Lake Garda region.
Garba Mountainbike, a local association of volunteers that promotes projects for mountain biking and cycling was in charge of the entire process of authorization, management and maintenance of the route, so that cycle tourists can discover nature, history, local specialities and, above all, the stunning scenery in complete safety.
